Podium Energy has developed an innovative pipeline and sensory technology that offers unprecedented safety for the transportation of all forms of petroleum products. This technology has the unique ability to protect the environment from any future spills.

Podium’s Earthsafe Pipeline system is a dual wall pipeline using spaced annular rings to define containment sections.  It is a pipe in pipe technology (PiP). Multiple sensors in each containment section detect leaks from either the carrier pipe or the containment pipe into the containment sections. Spills accumulate in the containment section, preventing environmental exposure and ensuring complete protection for the environment, while simultaneously allowing the sensors to accurately detect and locate (within fifty feet) even the smallest of leaks.

The Earthsafe Pipeline instrumentation includes a network monitor that links sensor leak and location data to the operator’s external analysis and response centre. This is done in real time via land or wireless links such as satellite for accurate and timely repair actions. The network monitor and sensors can be powered by battery stored solar energy for continuous operation in remote areas and adverse weather conditions. Podium’s technology solves two major limitations of non-Earthsafe pipelines - one being the ability to accurately detect and locate spills, and the other being the ability to completely contain those spills.
